with the objective to introduce
people to Tibetan cuisine at very
reasonable rates. It contributed
greatly to the development of Thamel
as a tourist hub and is acknowledged
as being among the pioneers in the
restaurant business in Thamel.
Long serving cooks at the restaurant
ensure that you get the taste of
authentic Tibetan cuisine, some of
the restaurant’s specialties include
Gacok as it showcases a wide range
of Tibetan dishes and thus provides
a wonderful gastronomical
experience, stimulating all senses
of touch, smell and sight. It is
served in a pot which is kept under
constant heat through the use of
charcoal; it is a mix of succulent
meat, vegetables, exotic mushrooms
which lend a wonderful aroma served
along with momos, noodles, and tea.
Other popular dishes include momos,
which are dumplings stuffed with
meat or vegetables, the stuffing is
prepared with a mix of spices,
vegetables and choice of meat to
create momos that just melt in your
mouth.
